These pieces are a form of writing and through their creations, the Wixárika people tell their stories and beliefs.
All experiences during sacred rituals, induced by ingestion of Peyote (hikuri), the sacred cactus, are expressed through this art, at which point they are allowed to cross the threshold of the unknown and thus relate to the divine.
These pieces are made of pieces of wood, to which are added beads with symbolic figures, reflections of their stories, legends and cosmogony.
